RECENT PAINTINGS
- Before the War was a finalist in the 2010 Publisher's Cup Cricket Art Award, open to artists from cricketing nations world wide. For twelve months it was exhibited in venues across Australia with the other shortlisted paintings.
2010 SOLO EXHIBITION
- Last year's solo exhibition of my paintings was at Goulburn Street Gallery. Splendid opening night - lots of people, and several sales to make it all worth while. If you missed the exhibition, you can still see the works on line, and the gallery has a small selection in their stock room. Just ask to see them!
BERLIN COLLECTION - GERMANY
- Thanks to the generosity of an art collector in Berlin, fans in Germany can now see three major paintings and several prints, drawings and smaller works in their own capital city. If you aren't in Berlin, you can view selected items from the collection on line.

MISS BARSHAM'S PAINTING BOOK
-
Elizabeth Barsham has been teaching Adult Education classes in painting and drawing for more than ten years. Based on her notes, lesson-plans and hand-outs, Miss Barsham's Painting Book for Bewildered Beginners complements her lessons and provides a systematic introduction to painting. It is available on CD, lavishly illustrated and in both html format (for easy reference) and pdf files for printing.
BEFORE THEY BUILT THE BRIDGE
-
A light-hearted look at the history of Lindisfarne. Not the famous island, but a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania. Elizabeth Barsham's family moved to the Eastern Shore in the early years of the 20th century. Accessible only by ferry from Hobart, Lindisfarne was then a bayside retreat of weekend cottages, orchards and dairy farms with a population of about two hundred. Elizabeth still lives in the farmhouse her grandfather and his brothers built; this book is based on anecdotes of the early days - "before they built the bridge, you know" - collected from elderly family acquaintances.
GREETING CARDS
-
Amaze your friends; startle your family - give them unique greeting cards with your choice of an exciting and unusual painting by Elizabeth Barsham - and at the same time help support a starving artist.
Cards can be plain or with a message; images can be anything from this website.
COMMUNITY ARTS PROJECTS
-
In 2004 Elizabeth Barsham was invited by SAGES (Seniors Action Group Eastern Shore) to create a design for The Clarence Bicentary Quilt project. This consisted of eighty line drawings, simple enough to be embroidered by inexperienced needle-workers. The individual pieces were assembled to form a quilt which was subsequently exhibited throughout Tasmania. After the success of this project, Senior Momentum were encouraged to embark on a second project in 2007. In Our Lifetime consists of fifty-eight embroidered images sourced from photographs from the artist's collection and from The Mercury, Hobart's daily newspaper.
