No matter how much drawing or painting you have done, there is always room for improvement.

In this ten-lesson course Elizabeth will show you some exercises to develop your drawing skills and encourage you to work on your own projects.

Prepare to be entertained, challenged - and occasionally frustrated - in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Emphasis is on a disciplined approach to drawing while encouraging individual interests and creativity, but the most important thing is that you have fun and enjoy your art.

Suitable for both complete beginners and continuing students who have already completed a course with Elizabeth.

• basic drawing in charcoal and pencil
• space and form
• landscape drawing
• composition and design
• creativity and imaginative drawing
• perspective
• quick sketches
• drawing with a brush; experimentation with various drawing materials
• developing a finished drawing from sketches
• working from photographs
• special student requests

What to bring:

• drawing paper - A2 size (cartridge paper, Spirax or Como pad suitable)
• kneadable eraser
• craft knife for sharpening pencils
• 4 large bulldog clips
• two or three sticks of vine or willow charcoal
• selection of drawing pencils - B, 3B, 6B minimum (optional)

Other materials you may decide you need include some basic watercolours, watercolour brush, ink, pens (nib and/or felt-tip), conté. Only buy them when required.
